Work Christmas #lunch at the Hyatt Hotel #Canberra

At this time of year everyone is doing Christmas lunch. At work we have quite a few areas that will go out to lunch. I’m fortunate to be invited to quite a few of these lunches.

Today one section that I’m very close to had their Christmas lunch at the Hyatt hotel in Canberra. I’ve previously blogged about lunch there.

Tuesday 2013-12-03 12.49.45 AEDT Hyatt Christmas Lunch. It’s a buffet with a combination hot and cold servery plus a good dessert selection.

Tuesday 2013-12-03 12.43.56 AEDT Plate 1. I was told by a smorgasbord expert in Perth that you should always start with fruit because it aids digestion. It seemed to help me today.

The meal cost each of us $65 plus drinks and coffee etc. It’s an expensive meal so I made sure I made the most of the opportunity. The food is good but like any buffet it’s difficult to assess everything properly. I could have eaten plate after plate of oysters and that fish and fennel salad. The ham was good but I doubt I’d eat stargazer again.

  3. Bugs? I didnt see any bugs. Nerf gun for a Secret Santa is inspired. I have two of thoise in front of the house. All the kids round our way seem to have grown out of them (ie no one has nicked them) but I still like them
