Today we tried the Wagyu cheeseburger at Ricardo’s Cafe in Macquarie.

Ricardo’s Cafe is a favourite of ours and a search of Yummy Lummy and the Old Yummy Lummy will find numerous excursions there.

Today Bron and I tried something new and a couple of favourites.

The Wagyu cheeseburger was really very good. The bun is quite light with a sweetness to it. That said, as much as the Wagyu cheeseburger is a winner, the pulled pork burger is a bigger winner. That thing is awesome. After the burgers we had dessert. I chose a salted caramel mousse which is really rich but really good πŸ™‚

Of course to enjoy this number of calories we needed to do some exercise. We did a walk around the top of Mount Black just below Telstra Tower.

After the walk we went to the viewing platform on Telstra Tower and had a look around Canberra. Here is a collection of photographs from the tower.

  1. That cheeseburger looks heavenly. I usually don’t prefer bacon with my wagyu burgers as I find bacon hard to chew sometimes (too dry). I like milkshakes too. For me it’s a challenge to finish off the sweet drink along with both burger and fries. Too much food πŸ˜€ Great views from the top, great shots.

    1. Thanks Mabel πŸ™‚ We ended up having a pot of Earl Grey tea to enjoy with dessert. It helped cut through the sweetness of the desserts.

    1. Thank you very much. I hope you can one day visit Canberra. As much as I complain about the dry weather, it’s a great place to visit and check out. If only it was situated somewhere in the Top End. It would be perfect.

  2. Getting vertigo just looking at the pictures. And you sure that isn’t a bacon burger with a bit of beef!?

    1. The salted caramel mousse also tasted amazing. The flavour was so intense I drank unsweetened strong Earl Grey tea with it and there was none of the bitterness you may experience when drinking black unsweetened tea with a cake. I imagine the saltiness helped neutralise any bitterness and the whole combination was amazing.
