Caramel popcorn cupcake at Heather’s House of Cake

This morning I walked around Lake Ginninderra and towards the end I stopped at Heather’s House of Cake and enjoyed a coffee and cupcake.

I asked for a flat white in a cup and a caramel popcorn cupcake.

The cupcake was delicious. Not too sweet and importantly the cake base was perfect. It wasn’t dry and crumbly. It wasn’t too moist. It was just right. The icing was nice and the popcorn was crunchy and not chewy.

It would have been a perfect “morning tea” except for a gust of wind that struck at 12.30 pm. Yes, I know it was a late morning tea but you know I was busy in the morning. The gust of wind caught a big heavy metal umbrella that was near the table I was sitting at. It fell and the edge hit me on the right side of my head over the parietal bone. It really hurt. Fortunately no laceration and no immediate bruising. Lucy from the shop came out and asked if I was okay. She’d had a bad day too. Her parked car was hit by someone swerving to avoid hitting a dog. I hope she manages to get a replacement to transport her family around.
