Schnitz at Woden What I ate today

I went out to lunch today with a few friends to Schnitz at Woden. Schnitz is a franchise from Melbourne and it specialises in chicken, beef and fish schnitzel. I wasn’t aware that you could get beef and fish schnitzel. I thought you could get chicken and veal schnitzel. Otherwise it’s just crumbed fish and steak. They also do crumb-free schnitzel which IMHO is just wrong.

Anyway I started the day with some avocado and pickled ginger on toasted Rye.

For lunch I had a chicken schnitzel with chips and sweet chilli mayonnaise. It was okay. The schnitzel was on the small side but the chips were very tasty.

For dinner I went with a light sandwich. A beef burger with avocado and pickled ginger.

Have you tried schnitz? How do you feel about a crumb-free schnitzel?

    1. Thanks for the comment Mark. I didn’t experience any rudeness in my interaction. It’s a shame you were treated badly.

    1. I know right. As Kirsty said in her comment, without the crumb it’s just a chicken fillet. The service is pretty quick and the prices not too bad.

    1. Wow, I’ve had a few big schnitzels. I have a big head so to try one bigger than my head would be fun. One day I’ll go to the Austrian club here and try one.

  1. Hmmm… a crumb free schnitzel is pretty much just a fillet? Its like having a “rice free” risotto? Your schnitty does look good. They seem to always score a lunch crowd there. I’ll have to give them a try, coz those chips look good (Mavi good even) 🙂

    1. The chips are good and worth the effort. The schnitty was okay but I’m getting used to the ones from the Tradies and the Hellenic Club. The service is really quick too.
