A relaxing weekend | What I ate

Gary Lum Scrambled eggs with speck and avocado

Saturday breakfast was scrambled eggs with speck and avocado

It’s been a busy week. It was nice to have a relaxing weekend at home.

I cooked and ate and indulged myself. I did a little exercise but Canberra has done its trick of entering into winter straight from summer. I hate this part of Canberra. The weather is awful. It’s so dry.

At least with the weather being cool, walking around Lake Ginninderra doesn’t get too hot and there are less flies. The sky is also ‘cleaner’ with less haze. Walking is very relaxing.

Lake Ginninderra looks good but it’s getting colder and colder and dryer and dryer. Yuck!

Smoked salmon with cream cheese on Vita-Weat for lunch was a nice light treat.

I was feeling a little blergh and wanted something to munch on while watching Daredevil on Netflix. My favourite chips are lime and pepper.

Lime and pepper chips for afternoon tea was a little bit of an indulgence.

While I wouldn’t necessarily call this an healthy option, it only has speck as the meat in the dish. Everything else apart from the cheese is vegetable.

To carry on the chip theme I had nachos for breakfast at Chatterbox Espresso Bar in Belconnen.

After a walk I didn’t feel like lunch but I wanted something indulgent.

I had an early dinner and continued using the noodles I won in a competition.

I hope you enjoyed a relaxing weekend too.

    1. The one good thing Lisa about the change in weather is that I will fire up the slow cooker more often and enjoy some comfort food.

  1. Looks yummy! I had to look up “Capsicum.” We call them “bell peppers” stateside.

If you get too cold, come to Dallas: we’re in the 60’s this week and will be in the 100’s in no time at all!

    Cheers!

    1. The chips are addictive. I need to stop visiting the shops on the way home from work 😜 TimTams are my winter delight, especially a TimTamSlam!

  2. Those are some delicious looking meals. Coincidentally, I had smoked salmon and cream cheese on some home made sesame seed flatbread crackers but otherwise, my last week of meals was kind of boring. I made butter tarts and a pesto filled couronne (crown) cause I like to play with dough periodically.

This week was March break (school kids get the week off) so I didn’t work … just relaxed at home.

    1. Breaks are so good when you can relax. Mmm…butter tarts sound delicious. I wish I had some bagels for my smoked salmon and cream cheese. I also had some tomatoes and capers but that seemed extravagant for a biscuit 😆

  3. I eat all my forbidden foods through you vicariously!! With having high blood pressure and being pre-diabetic plus food allergies I’ve had to eliminate or cut back on red meat, spices, dairy, cheese, salt, sugar, soda, etc…

I wish I had your digestive system and constitution.

    1. I’m very sorry to hear of your health problems. I’m happy though to share some food photographs so you can enjoy it vicariously 😃😋👍
