Monday link love

Hello everyone. Happy QUEENSLAND DAY. I hope you enjoyed celebrating the declaration in 1859 that Queensland would be a separate colony.

Happy Queensland Day
Happy Queensland Day

I’ve been a bit slack with blogging lately. There’s not a lot to write about. I’m going away for about a week on Wednesday so I bought light on Saturday and spent the weekend doing non-cooking things. Hard to believe I know.

It was a bit light today in the Canberra Food Bloggers Facebook group

So here are some food photographs. I hope you like them.

  1. I always enjoy your food photos, Gary. It always looks like you are eating well. Looks like you had sourdough bread with your veggie breakfast. Each time I order that kind of bread at a cafe, it is usually rock hard 😀

Also, that looks like a very warm dinner for a dreary winter Monday. I take that you like to eat your dinners early 😀

    1. Hi Mabel, yes I’m an early riser so I eat breakfast at around 5, lunch at about 1145 and dinner around 6.
The bread with that veggie breakfast was a very nice sourdough which absorbed the egg yolk nicely from the poached eggs. It was hard but the egg yolk softened it nicely.

I really don’t like rock hard toast with breakfast because most cafes don’t provide decent knives for the breakfast service. A steak knife would be perfect for some bread.
