Red the metal rooster

I have a number of friends on Twitter who are enamoured by metal chickens. This interest started when one of them reposted a blog by thebloggess.

Some of my friends have acquired metal chickens and I felt the need. So today at a garden shop in Pialligo I bought Red the metal rooster.

Here he is knocking at my door

He even joined me for dinner

Tonight I had pork and noodles with Asian greens.

No food images tonight

I didn’t post any food images tonight. I cooked a loin of pork by wrapping in paper and putting into a low slow oven. It came out looking a bit ordinary. I had seasoned with olive oil, salt and pepper. It tasted fine, still moist but nothing to look at. Maybe tomorrow night I’ll post images.

My week in dinners

This has been a tough week. It’s been busy and stressful. Each day I’ve looked forward to making something to eat.
On Monday night I made a chicken Maryland with pumpkin risotto. I nearly inhaled it when I sat down to eat.
On Tuesday I was in Brisbane most of the day, that night I roasted another chicken Maryland and cooked some vegetables.
On Wednesday I was in an all day meeting and that night I bought some pork rashers and had me some greens.
On Thursday night I didn’t feel like something complicated so I bought some steak and bread and made a steak sandwich.
Last night I used the left over pork from last weekend and made a stew. There was still enough left over for tonight.

Pork and fennel

I had a pretty good day today. I woke up early and enjoyed a cup of tea in bed while checking e-mail and twitter. I went out early and bought some groceries from Coles. I picked up some nice pork cutlets. I thought I’d oven bake the pork on a bed of fennel and onion. As a side I did a simple potato bake and some broccoli for greenery.

I went out to DFO and bought a couple of belts from RM Williams.

At lunch time I went and saw Captain America. I was a little disappointed. I was expecting more, however, I’m happy I saw it at the cinema rather than waiting for it to be released on DVD.
