MEATER™ made sirloin steak and vegetables isn’t something I’ve cooked before. I’ve become enamoured with sous vide cooking and if I was going to purchase a thick-cut steak, sous vide is probably going to be my preference.

Dedicated to the cattle who are bred to live and die so that I might enjoy their muscle and fat, not to mention the hides which make great shoes and belts, and the milk which satisfies my lust for butter, cream, and cheese. Most of all I’m grateful for Australian farmers who grow cattle for me to enjoy. Thank you.

Sous vide steak and mashed potatoes

Sous vide steak again! I have nothing new or exciting this week. This is a simple meal for one. Granted it’s not a frugal meal, and I’m not cooking everything from scratch. I just want to demonstrate that cooking for one, doesn’t have to be from scratch and there’s nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about by using prepared products like mashed potato and gravy.

Life’s too short to be mucking around if you’re short of time and you want something tasty and simple to prepare.

Sous vide sirloin steak with blue cheese mashed pumpkin and stir-fried quinoa

I know there’s a bit of repetition here with sous vide steak, however, this is the first time I’ve cooked sirloin steak.

Yummy Lummy is all about cooking for one, so here’s a recipe for sirloin steak for one along with some really nice blue cheese mashed pumpkin and some stir-fried leftover quinoa which I fried with broccolini and asparagus.
