A simple one person meal consisting of baked salmon and a cauliflower stack
Ingredients
- Atlantic salmon (about 250 g)
- Cauliflower (four large florets)
- Frozen peas (100 g)
- Butter
- Pouring cream
- Salt and pepper
- Tasty Coon cheese slices
Instructions
- Gently rub vegetable oil into a fillet of salmon and add salt and pepper
- Place the salmon on some baking paper on a tray and insert into a 150 °C oven for 16 minutes
- Steam the cauliflower until really soft
- Mash the cauliflower and then add some butter and mash more
- Add some pouring cream and allow the cream to reduce away while stirring and while the salmon is baking
- Press a disc of cheese with an aluminium cylinder
- Put the remaining cheese and the peas into the saucepan with the cauliflower and stir until smooth
- Make the stack in the aluminium cylinder
- Plate the salmon fillet next to the stack
- Remove the aluminium cylinder to reveal the stacked cauliflower
- Shoot a photograph (I used my Nikon D810 and Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 at 1/60 seconds, f/5.6 and ISO 64)
- Eat the meal
- Wash the dishes

Oh I want to try this tomorrow, but I don’t have cauliflower.
I wonder if it works with broccoli?
Thanks for sharing, it looks delicious!
Not sure about the broccoli but give it a go and let me know how it turns out.
