Work remains very busy, so much so that I had to turn down a dinner invitation with someone to have a pie floater. Interestingly, this morning I looked through Facebook memories and saw that exactly one year ago, I went out and had a pie floater.

That inspired me to visit a bakery and buy a pie, specifically a chunky pepper steak pie. To make it easier, I also bought a tin of pea and ham soup and some tomato sauce, since I already had frozen peas at home.

Preparing the soup was simple: microwave radiation for two minutes, stir, then more microwave radiation for another minute to reach the right temperature. To assemble, invert the pie so that it’s bottom up, add some peas, then a little sauce.

The pie floater was delicious.

At the bakery, I also bought a Cheese Kransky sausage roll and a vanilla slice.

The vanilla slice was okay, perhaps a six out of ten.

The sausage roll was also decent, but I think next time I’ll go for a traditional sausage roll—the pork and fennel one I had last week was fantastic.
